A status update on the RESULTS of PIGEON TESTING in SOUTH AFRICA; May 2016

Diagnostic tests were carried out by Dr Rob Conradie at selected pet shops in the Gauteng area. The following shows the percentage of birds that tested positive for the respective disease so far in 2016, with comparison to 2015 results:

There has been a marked increase in the incidence of worms, especially tapeworm, over the last year. This is noted from our test results as well as from what fanciers are reporting. The eggs/segments are seen with the naked eye.

These results will be updated on a regular basis throughout the year. Any new or interesting developments will be reported immediately.
